Official MOD-Licensed Military Display Piece
Celebrate the heritage of the Grenadier Guards with this officially licensed Grenade Fired Proper display piece. The regiment has origins dating back to 1656 and is the most senior infantry regiment in the British Army. Soldiers of the regiment are known as Guardsmen.
After the regiment defeated the Grenadiers of the French Imperial Guard at Waterloo in 1815, it was granted the grenadier distinction and adopted the fused-grenade device associated with that honour. The British Army identifies the device as the Grenade Fired Proper with Seventeen Flames and describes it as effectively a Waterloo battle honour. The name officially changed to Grenadier Guards in 1877. This precision display reproduction is supplied with an integrated keyhole mount, ready to hang straight from the box.
