About the Badge

The cap badge combines a silver cross pattée inherited from the Wiltshire Regiment with a silver Chinese-style dragon inherited from the Royal Berkshire Regiment. The dragon is enclosed within a double coil of naval rope, commemorating the marine service of the 49th Foot, and the design is surmounted by a ducal coronet.
