About the Waterloo Eagle

The Waterloo Eagle tradition comes from the 1st Royal Dragoons, whose men captured the Eagle of the French 105th Regiment of the Line during the Battle of Waterloo on 18 June 1815. The distinction passed into The Blues and Royals when the Royal Dragoons amalgamated with the Royal Horse Guards in 1969.

The Waterloo Eagle is a separate regimental device and should not be confused with the Blues and Royals cap badge.

Ideal For

  • Blues and Royals veterans and serving Household Cavalry personnel
  • Military collectors and regimental display collections
  • Retirement, service and commemorative gifts
  • British Army memorabilia enthusiasts
